How it works

Apply online at leapcard.ie
Choose the Student Leap Card. You'll upload a passport-style photo and your college enrolment details.
Pay the €10 deposit
There's a €10 refundable deposit plus whatever credit you load. Most students start with €20.
Collect or receive by post
Pick it up at a designated agent near your campus, or have it posted to your Irish address in about a week.
Register and top up
Register the card on the Leap Card app so your balance is protected if you lose it. Top up in the app or any shop with the Leap sign.
Tag on, tag off
Tap boarding and leaving on buses and Luas. Student fares are roughly 50% off adult prices — Dublin commutes drop to about €1.
